I'm reminded of the words of old blue-eyes Frank Sinatra, "I did it my way", right now, in light of recent media events. "My way" doesn't always lead to the most prosperous outcomes, as Rupert Murdoch, Julian Assange, Derryn Hinch et al know too well – rogue journalism is a rocky path, but it's the motives that matter most.

"This story sums up a lot of central elements of the new media world," Arianna Huffington told Celia Walden of the News of the World fallout for the Telegraph after admonishing her for wearing high heels (how's a girl to rule the world if her feet ache?) and before notice of the FBI's investigation into NoW 9/11 victim hacking allegations. "A greater demand for accountability and transparency, the vital role that trust plays, and the incredible impact social media can have in accelerating change."

While a smokey-eyed Coco Rocha makes a good case for doing the key trends your own way via UK ELLE's August issue (a welcome bit of glossy pizazz amongst a sea of sexy faces, cleavage and Terry Richardson provocation), British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, unafraid of a power heel herself, makes the case for blooming late in Candice Chung's Sunday Life cover story, 'Never Too Late'.

"Westwood was 30 when she started working full-time in fashion - an age by which most people expect to be entering mid-level roles in their careers," writes Chung. "And for those involved in creative pursuits, it's often the unspoken deadline we give ourselves to "make it" in our areas of passion - after which we might begin to consider "getting a real job" or start contemplating all the big "M" words, like mortgage and motherhood."

For some, as Sinatra also sang, the best is yet to come. The seeds you sow now, might just be what you reap later on. So a word from Paul to the Galatians to end the week:

"Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. For each will have to bear his own load."

I am having an intense love affair with all of these women! My blossom board is beginning to get a little bit too small for all the people I admire.
It has to be said though, that Westwood is my absolute favourite. I love her sense of social responsibility! I remember reading an interview where she was so adamant that girls need to stop shopping so much. What I wouldn't give to buy her coffee, sit her down and pick her brain...
